Aw, tell us what you REALLY think
The Captain goes over to write for Michelle Malkin's highly commercial blog, and one dissenter writes a magnificent rant.
Unfortunately, too much of the blogosphere has 'gone commercial', with many of the more successful bloggers trying to imitate the tendencies of paid media. When this happens, concerns about integrity (an overused word, we'll admit) take a backseat to other concerns.
We've noted this in postings regarding the local website Hoboken411 (where the problem is pretty extreme), but we've seen signs of it in many of the more 'connected' blogs. Too often, posts are written (or not written) out of concern for the fallout from a bigger (we hate the term "A-list") blog which may cease linking them.
That's why this rant was so refreshing in its candor and devil-may-care demeanor. It reminds us of a time when more of the blogosphere was this way.
