At least "New Jersey - Bend over and smile" would be honest
It's not bad enough that public money vanishes and no one asks why. Or that we have so many indicted public officials that our prisons installed revolving doors. Or that our new Governor is raising taxes before even taking office. We could live with all that. But now they've gone too far. Now they've stripped us of our last shred of self-respect, our only means of dealing with the endless indignities. They're insisting on a sarcasm-free state slogan.
You've probably seen the remaining Jersey 'slogans' already. They're a lackluster lot, bereft of any redeeming Sopranos' swagger. Spineless, soulless, flavorless, limp, and Disneyfied. Disingenuous, castrated, and Pravdaized. Scrubbed, censored, homogenized, pasteurized, and pureed. Edited for television. Readers' Digested, extruded, and regifted. Capeesh? Sheesh.
And it's not because they rejected our suggestions. We're bigger than that.

Slogan commentary from The NJ Blog, DynamoBuzz, and Baristanet, reveal that this slogan is just another unwanted, unappealing, and expensive indignity being shoved down taxpayers' throats by a complacent, disconnected state government.
