Photocopiers and holiday office parties

C/net reports on how calls for office photocopier repairs spike during holiday season, for reasons you can probably guess. But that's not really why we linked the story. Scroll down a bit and you'll see a graphical chart ("The Big Picture") indicating how this story relates to other stories. Clinking on any link in this chart will take you to a whole new chart/relationship (or take you directly to the story if you wish). This is something we've seen displayed as experiements in the past. C/net is the first site we have seen that has actually instituted something like this. We expect to see more of this sort of thing as the information web becomes increasingly complex, and we expect to see more sophisticated iterations of this concept (3D, for one thing).

Of particular significance here is that we have heard nothing about Google implementing something along these lines. The search engine has been spinning off every idea under the sun, from blog hosting to Google Wallet, yet on this concept (so closely related to the heart of their business) they have been, as far as we know, silent.
