The shape of things to come

The biggest news story on the 'net today: Google launches Blog Search. Other new developments of interest to bloggers: a new browser geared to bloggers is generating buzz, and a new service expedites use of videoclips by blogs (from Sluggo). Coincidentally, a video search engine has just been launched.

More commentary on Google Blog Search from the respected and sage Search Engine Watch. Also: "How to use this service?"

Google defines 'blogs' this way: "Sites that use RSS and other structured feeds and update content on a regular basis". We disagree, but then there is a lot of disagreement regarding what a blog is. There is also disagreement over whether this service will spell the end for Technorati and others. Charlene Li (of Forrester Research) comments. Technorati and David Silfray respond to Google's announcement.

How will you ever find time to use and enjoy these new services? Glad you asked.
